Eight

Today, I practiced for the playing exam tomorrow. I am ready to play although it seems that not matter how much I push through the study I still cannot play it through without a mistake.

I also played through the four songs my group is playing for the quartet project, they all sound really good as a group. I am very confident that we will do well during our presentation. We have been using our time effectivly in class by setting dynamics and balance in our pieces

Seven

Today, I practiced for 30 minutes. I worked on the requirements for our upcoming playing exam. The cromatic scales are not hard for me anymore. Since I worked on them through out the year they are simpler to learn and study now.

The D major scale (harmonic) is still challenging so I will have to pay attention to it tomorrow when I practice as well. I think it is only difficult because of the accidentals.

Also study #8 in the Arban Klose book is awkward and I am not sure how the rythmn goes or the tempo. Many of us are confused and unsure about it.

THIS IS CRAZY!
honestly, I don't know how he doesn't pass out doing this. Flight of the Bumble Bee is a popular piece for bands to play in the movies, I like it because its fast and playful pace and tune are attention grabbing! He uses the higher range of the flute very well and even though when he beatboxes the notes are slightly airy, the tune and accuracy are never lost.
I find Eric Stephenson very talented and I quite enjoy his videos they are original and well done! After watching the video I was wondering if the way he plays is mostly because of double breathing? It seems like the believable suggestion.

Six

Tonite I practiced for 40minutes. I played the sesame street songs and some excersizes in the purple book.
The sesame street songs are fun.
I was working in the purple book to get the hang of the fingerings I dont use as often so that way I can recall them when they do come up and I am not frantically searching in the back of the book.

Cinqo

Tonight I got some practicing in FINALLY!
I just got through a rough patch with my family and havent had very much time at all lately. I practiced page 20 in the purple book Db scales and study for the test for around 15minutes, ive almost got the hang of it *fingers crossed*
I played Carmina Bourana I really like that song!! It has a fun pace and beat, my family thought it sounded really good :)
I attempted to practice the super high parts in Bohemien, because I had difficulties with it in class today.
I played for about 45minutes tonight.

Quatro

Saturday I practised for 1hr. I played through Second Suite with minor difficulties, mostly in the first movement. I sometimes would mess up in the fourth movement when my fingers would start to get sloppy during the repetative parts. I also played some cromatic scales as well as pages 14 and 15 in the purple book.

Today(sunday) I only got to practise for 30mins this morning. I played Pirates and Birdland for sight reading and dynamic work. In both songs I had minor faults since I have seen them before I tried to focus on my errors and work them out before moving on in the pieces. I also played lines 70-75 in the blue book.

Trois

waow, havent used this in awhile .. I was away for much the march break so i have not been on top of listing my practicing.

I practiced for a total of 3hours during the break, not all at once but over the entire break. i am trying to work on more of the cromatic scales that we havent looked at in class yet and the 6th one down i am finding a little difficult and i plan to do more work on it. I chose to do this because i had difficulty with the first two before the test.
i played through Rumble and Rosemydre (idk how to spell it) and have maybe one or two technique problems that will come right along :)
thats all really!

ps, i like this blog thing :)

Deux

I practiced late last night and did not record this then.
I worked on the study for today's test and the cromatic scale from a week ago because I was having difficulties with it. I am getting better at it but it still needs more work.
I played through Rumble and parts of Second Suite, which are coming along but I still stop when it comes to the more challenging parts.
I plan to practice those parts the most when I take my flute home.
I am really enjoying the pieces we are doing for band!!

Uno

Tonite I did not get very much time to practise, I managed a solid 20 mintues. I worked on Second Suite and the two cromatic scales for our test.
I am having a bit of trouble when it comes to remembering the fingerings for notes I am not as familiar with, I really need to work on that.

When we first got Second Suite I thought it was impossible! The new key signature and tons of accidentals were throwing me off everytime. Since I have been working on it, its gotten so much easier. I still have problems with the first movement but I have the fourth movement almost perfect :)
